Digital Detox, Without the Drama

Practical ways to create distance from constant digital input while keeping the tools, access, and connection you genuinely need.

A boundary, not a purity test

A digital detox is a temporary, intentional reduction in digital input. It works best when you define what is being reduced, what remains available, and what will fill the newly open space.

Keep navigation, accessibility, medical, and emergency tools available. Remove optional alerts, social feeds, work channels, and background media for a chosen period.

Design the environment

Put the charger outside the bedroom. Carry a paper map or notebook. Tell people how to reach you if needed. Plan a walk, meal, book, or conversation so the absence of scrolling is not simply a vacuum.
